mobile_versionOne of the things that I really love about WordPress are the plugins and one of the best plugin that I installed on all my WordPress blogs is the WordPress Mobile Press plugin which I was able to customized to include a header an adsense code.

However, today I found out that blogger has rolled out, through their Blogger in Draft, their own Mobile Templates. This is what my blog over at Online Money Chat looks like on mobile version. Awesome right?  I have not tested to see if it works on all kinds of templates so please let me know if yours was able to be transported nicely ya..

Here’s how you get your..

1. Login to Blogger in draft using your blogger id and password

2. Go to Settings >> Email & Mobile

3.  Under Mobile Template, click on the “Yes, On mobile devices, show the mobile version of my template”

4. Save and you’re done. You can also do a Preview to see what yours would like like.

Enjoy!

Time flies so fast and before we know it we are in the last month of the year. Another few weeks and we say goodbye to 2010 and hello 2011. This year was filled with bitter sweet moments. We lost so many loved ones this year and April proved to be a very difficult month for our family. The pain and sorrow we, as a family feel would live on as those that left us will never return. However, we were steadfast in being happy and push forward to achieve out goals. We share laughters amidst sorrow and move forward looking back only to reminisce in our memories.

On the career side of my life, this year I made more than I ever expected I can with my online earning. I was actually taken aback when I saw the figures in my  accounting software… and I have blogging and my blog makeover business to thank for it. The goal now is to do  lots more for sure so that perhaps I can start with dabbling with bullion gold or coin gold or even save up enough to go on that dream holiday.

Wanna help me with my dreams? Well  contact me today for a blog makeover ok!

If you ever used my contact me form, you will see that one of the question that I asked the sender is how they find me. This question might seem strange to some but it is an important piece of information for me as it tells me how and where my services are found on the world wide web. This blog is currently second place on google search for the keyword blog makeover and I think that is awesome as I know it can potentially lead to more jobs and more advertisers :)

However, since not all of my visitors eventually lead to my contact page, I decided to add a free online survey tool that popup at the corner of this blog main page. It is non-intrusive as visitors can easily minimize the box but it would be awesome if people can just do the quick survey to help me with my research.

quiz

This web survey feedback form service is provided free by the good people at KISSinsights dot com and once you registered, you can choose from a variety of online questionnaires and surveys that you can place at your site to help you with whatever information you are looking for. For example if you own an online store, you could have a survey that asked your potential customer, why they abandoned their shopping cart, you could ask a subscriber why they are terminating their subscription or my personal favorite, would you come back again, you get the drift right? Anyway this is an awesome service and did I mentioned it was free with options to upgrade for heavy duty users?

Check it out and let me know what you think!

Registering a business can be a very simple process, but the steps can vary depending on the country you are registering the business in. In most countries it’s not a complicated task, but of course the steps must be followed precisely. The first thing to understand about registering a business is that you will need to decide on a business structure.

Which business structure and office type you choose will more than likely be determined by what type of business you have, or will have. There are four distinctive business structures to decide from. They are: Sole trader, Partnership, Trust and Company.

As a sole trader you operate trade, manage and control all aspects of your business. This doesn’t mean that you cannot have employees, though. The main advantage of being a Sole trader is that setting up your business will involve a small amount of legal and tax formalities. And of course since it is only one individual you as the company, the structure is inexpensive to set up.

In a Partnership business structure you are carrying on your business with someone else. This could be one other person or a group of people. Income generated will obviously be received by all parties involved. A great advantage to setting up a Partnership business structure is that you’ll have access to the finances of all the partners. Furthermore there are more people to share the work, losses and legal responsibilities.

A Trust business structure is for those who wish to establish a company as a trustee. Two big advantages is having limited liability as a company, as well as increased asset protection.

The most common business structure is Company. A Company is regulated by the governing bodies of that country, and are typically known as Securities commissions. When it comes to having access to capital for business purposes; a Company has greater access. Also since a Company business structure involves a lot more to be established, it is more expensive to get started.

To choose your office type, this will take some time and research, but more so than not there are several types of leases, offices and even opportunities for shared office space in your city.

You may want to consider getting a grant for assistance to help you start your business. There are typically several funding programs available. And you may be able to receive financial assistance from local councils as well.

It is imperative to get your business taxation identification, as this will ensure you are paying taxes outlined and operating in a legal manner.

I am always on the lookout for good and reliable hosting and if it happens to be more economical than the one I’m using then I’m all ears. As I have a few blogs to my name, I tend to lean towards hosting with unlimited domain, unlimited storage space and I also look for unlimited bandwidth as I don’t like to be locked out of my own blog should my bandwidth exceed for any particular month.

If you are just starting out into the blogging world, you might consider free hosting with blogspot or wordpress dot com. However, if are looking to host your own blog because you like to have more control over it or you like to try self-hosted wordpress with all it’s fantastic plugins, then you might want to consider something from HighHosting The Best Domain & Hosting Provider. The site offers hosting starting from an economical price of USD2 per month or you can go with their special offer of USD20 for one year package.  Although there is a 100mb disk space capacity and a 5000MB capped bandwidth monthly, I feel this is pretty sufficient if you are starting out or experimenting with hosting. You can always upgrade later should the need arise.

Let me know if you need further information. Good luck!

Choosing a domain name is always exciting as for me it means you now really own that blog or website, much like owning a house and putting some home address plaques in front of your house.

Like address signs, a great domain name is equally important. So here are some tips to remember when choosing that all important address sign or domain name for your blog.

1. Always remember to make it short and sweet. You want something that represent you but at the same time something that people can remember easily.   K.I.S.S. Keep it simple and sweet, and you’ll get more traffic coming to your site.

2. Pay attention to punctuation. Sometimes the domain you want might not be available but something with punctuation might work. Although dashes and underscores are generally alright, avoid any strange punctuations like the exclamation sign for instance.

3. Make your domain name memorable so people will type in the address straight into the address bar instead of using a search engine and this is particularly important if yours is a business website. Search engine means your potential customer might find a competitor while looking for your site.

I hope you find the tips useful… and oh ya.. congrats on your new domain name!

LadyJava Creations have diversified so much from when we started out where our basic portfolio was only blog makeover. We now not only extended our services to include website design services, myspace, ning tweaks, badges, banners, buttons and tweaking of existing template, we also cater to stationery needs  like  business cards, brochures, postcard, flyers and newsletter artwork. The only thing we don’t provide is, unfortunately,  printing services.  Most of our online clients get the artwork from us and then get their own printing services over on their end to finish the project. This has gone well so far and we are grateful.

So please do keep us in mind if you need the services mentioned above. Our prices are competitive and as always we strive to give you the best service we can. After all we are customers too!

Blogger now have added their own Share Button widget to their blogspot blog. It is a simple process.

1. Go to your DESIGN menu
2. Click on your Blog Post Edit link
3. Scroll down the menu that opens and tick on the SHOW SHARE BUTTON

Now if you check your blog, you should see the widget on your blog post footer. However, if you template is heavily modified, you have to add a code to your blog HTML coding. So here’s what you do..

1. Go to EDIT HTML and tick theEXPAND WIDGET TEMPLATE
2. Next search for [cce]
post-footer-line-3[/CCE]

and add this code just underneath it..

I have a few headers to do, makeovers and my client from the States is waiting for me to online on Skype. So I thought I divide my workload between my desktop and my laptop, Miss Fly so that I don’t taxed my desktop processing power. I switched on Miss Fly and nothing happens. I thought I had forgotten to switch on the power but that was not the case. I panicked for a moment, took a coffee break and came back to my workstation. I switched her on again and once more there was no reaction from her. OMG I thought. I unhooked her from all power source, “talked” to her (I swear I did) and put her back on her juice and tried one more time. Whaddaya know! It worked, she’s running again!

Phew! Close call. Miss Fly is on her third year with me which means when her warranty runs out in January 2011, she won’t be cost efficient to repair when she does go dead on me again. So I am saving up money to make sure I have some funds ready when that happens. Of course if I was living in the States, I could use Savings.com coupons to get deep discounts just like the HP discount coupons or the discounts for Home Depot that I found while surfing at the site. But alas I am in Malaysia and thus, have to save and  hope that by the time I need to use the funds, the prices don’t go ridiculously higher than now.. Sigh..

I’ve recently added Twitter Remote widget to the sidebar here and over at my cat blog, Blogger Cats. I noticed that the minimum width that the widget allows was 180px at the site. I didn’t really thought anything about it because my sidebar is that size so the widget fits nicely. However, my BFF, Mariuca, emailed me asking how to resize the widget. So here’s what you need to do in case you too want to resize it to fit smaller sidebars.

Look at your code

twitterremote

Change the highlighted number to something to that would fit your sidebar. Remember to not make it too small as the words in the widget might get squished up. Good luck!

Find these tips useful? Buy me coffee ya.  Thanks!

As you know I don’t only do blog makeover but am also a webmistress for a few companies as well, updating coding, website banners, SEO optimization and general cleanup issues. In between that, I try to squeeze in a few blog makeover just to keep the balance and simply because I enjoy it so much, so please keep those orders coming.. lol!

With Azwaj’s help and his business contacts, we are now expanding my business to the local market. There are untapped market out there and people who wants to start to blog but don’t know where to begin so our services would include services from startup all the way to content management.

I am thinking of ways to get more promotion and we thought what better way to promote our business using custom tshirt right?  I can imagine someone wearing a sports tshirts that says “My Blog is a LadyJava Creations” ..lol.. how awesome will that be!?  Check out this custom tshirt. Too simple eh? I just thought of this tshirt idea so am still getting inspired for the perfect design. Perhaps I should check out Death by T-Shirt , which a blog devoted to tshirt love and get some ideas from there.

Would you like one of this tshirt if it ever materialized?

Thanks to my clients who have been keeping me busy, I see a steady increase in income since I started my blog makeover business. In fact, some had to wait for some time because I was drowning in orders and request for little tweaks here and there. So to my clients my apologies and I will get to your orders very soon.

Slightly off topic, let’s talk a little about what I want to do with all this extra cash..lol. Now that I’ve got my own little business going and some savings stashed away, it’s time for, what else, shopping!

Nowadays shopping are not just limited offline. Much cardiganlike my business which is one hundred percent done online, I can now shop for wigs, shoes, handbag and even designer clothes from the comfort of my own home. In fact, some stores are having an exclusive online offers for specific designs and there are some that even come with deep discounts. I know I have my eyes on some cardigans that I can’t seem to find here in Malaysia. You know the kind that don’t leave you feeling too hot but cozy enough to keep you warm for a night time evening motorbike ride? Well check it out.. isn’t she lovely and worth every penny for sure :)

Anyway, I’m off letting my fingers do the walking and off to make some purchases. After all a girl got to rest someday but remember do contact me should you need my services. I need more kaching to do more shopping.. lol!

Sometimes I wish designing headers is as simple as Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. I’m not saying I love math, in particular Algebra but as least with the subject, there is a precise formula that one relies on to get an answer. When I do blog headers, I have to guess what my clients want and sometimes it’s not easy. After all I don’t know them. I don’t know their taste and I don’t know what they like or what they don’t like.

It’s never an exact science when it comes to designing. I have to totally rely on my gut feel. There is no Algebra 1 Answers or Algebra 2 Answers. My designs depends solely on the answers that my client furnish me before I start to work. Most times, fortunately, I get it spot on but sometimes it does get challenging to really make my clients love what I have done.

Much like students getting Algebra 1 Help and Algebra 2 help at online tuition centers like TutorNext dot com, I get some inspiration from some design sites online too. Thank goodness for the internet eh?
