I am so happy for Ane who finally got her today blog! She approached me for a custom header to make it as gorgeous as her and her other two blog, Diary of Ane and World of Entertainment. I decided to make is simple and clutter-free as the header at Today blog are very narrow in height..

Here’s the end product!

I got a lot of people that asked me about how to get their own e-commerce site going. My suggestion is to just get one ready made template which sets up easily and you’re ready to sell within minutes. Here’s one template that is not only economical at USD65 but easy to install. If you’re already on WordPress, this WP Store template is definitely the way to go but if you’re not and still interested, then contact me and we can work out how I can help you :)

update

NO.. I’ve not stopped my online business or disappear from the blog makeover scene.. neither have I started selling Bon Jovi TicketsJoel Osteen Tickets, Allstate Arena tickets, New Orleans Saints Tickets or even Chicago Theatre Tickets, though I reckon those might be a lucrative business as well.. lol! .. I’ve just been busy doing something else, diversifying my business, and since most of them are sort of confidential, I can’t, unfortunately showcase them here. Besides, between travelling to and from Singapore frequently these days, the kitties being sick and life in general, things are really chaotic around here. Plus am trying to keep myself healthy and not fall sick especially next week for a very important event in my life.

Anyway, there’s my quick update.  I am still taking blog makeover orders in but the delivery would probably be after I come back which would be hopefully late June. As for small ala carte orders or small coding, those are still open so keep them coming :)

Thanks and Cheerio…

On my recent Entrecards drops, I noticed a few blogs hosted on Blogspot suddenly disappearing although apparently all these bloggers are active with a few blogs to their names. Then I noticed a post by one of the bloggers at her other blog which stated that Blogger had apparently DELETED her blog stating that it was a SPAM blog and even after numerous email, she still had not received any answer and her blog is still gone.

I am not here to question who is right or who is wrong but here’s a way to salvage your blog data should that happened.

TWO WORDS..

BACK UP!

.. and here’s how you do it in blogger/blogspot.

1. Go to your blog dashboard

2. Click on Settings>>Basic and you will see the the EXPORT link.

export or backup

3. Click on that and click on DOWNLOAD BLOG to somewhere safe on your hard drive. What this does is it will save your blog in a XML format that you can IMPORT back to another blogspot blog or use to import into another blogging platform, WordPress, while you decide your next course of action if and when this happens.

4. NOTE: This will ONLY back up your blog entries and comments.  It DOES NOT backup your template or your widgets.  To back up your template, you can do so from Design>>Edit HTML menu

Go get exporting/backing up NOW!

I take pride in my work and each blog makeover to me is like working on my very own blog. Care and thought goes to each design to make sure it meets your approval because I appreciate that you trust me enough to let me work with you to create your very own space in the world wide web.

After the work is done, I hope you smile each time you visit your own blog and make you motivated to blog even more. I hope you drop a few lines using the Review and Testimonial page to let me know what you think about my work so I could improve myself.

Thanks so much and enjoy your blogging  journey!

I’m always on the lookout for reliable and dependable web hosting. My first hosting company was not bad but there were times when my sites would be down for a span of 3hours or and so that is completely unacceptable for me. So I was forced to look for another hosting company and I am currently very happy with the one I have now. It’s dependable, it’s fast and most importantly, my sites are always live.

If you own a site that you can’t afford to go down at any point of time and you would like to have more control over it, you might want to consider what is called managed hosting. With managed hosting, each dedicated server can be customized to your needs and there are more options you can choose from.

If you already have a server of your own but would like to house it a secure location, you might want to consider colocation. Most of this locations can keep your server safe from fire, vandalism, theft and even natural disasters.

So, those are the different kinds of hosting you can consider for your needs. Good luck!

Here’s the scenario. You already have a domain name and already used that domain for your main blog. You then opened up another blog that is serve as a extension to your existing blog. You now want to publish it as a subdomain. Here are the steps: PS: these steps are for domains hosted on godaddy. Domain Sale! $7.49 .com at GoDaddy 1. You should be at this screen of your godaddy site subdomain1 2. Look for the DNS Manager and click on Launch 3. Your next screen should show up with the following screenshot subdomain2 4. Click on the Quick Add and a little box would appear just like the screenshot below subdomain3 5. In the box.. enter the information as below.. please note, where I put “shop”, this is where you would put whatever subdomain name you want and click on “Save Zone File” subdomain4 6. Now go to your blogger dashboard and click on your blog Settings>> Publishing>> Custom Domain >> Switch to advanced settings 7. Enter the new address you have created just now over at goddaddy. So in my case it was shop.yourblogmaindomain.com subdomain5 8. Save and you’re done! Now test your new blog url :) PS: Has this post helped you? Buy me some Java Juice? PSS: Want a blog makeover?
